"Dr. Phil" is helping turn many viewers into "3 Watchers" at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.  After the first week of May sweeps at 5 p.m., "Dr. Phil" has a 7 rating/14 share (up 146% from last year), and the KYW 6 p.m. news has a 7 rating/12 share (up 114%).  At 5 p.m., WCAU has a 4 rating/9 share (down 18%) and at 6 p.m., WCAU has a 5 rating/9 share (down 17%).   At 6 p.m., WTXF's "The Simpsons" is right behind WCAU with a 4 rating/7 share. WPVI leads at 5 p.m. with a 9 rating/19 share (though down 6%) and at 6 p.m. with a 12 rating/22 share (down 10%).

At 11 p.m., WPVI leads with an 11 rating/18 share.  WCAU is in second place with a 10 rating/16 share and KYW is close behind with a 9 rating/15 share.

At 10 p.m., WTXF has a 5 rating/7 share and WPHL has a 3 rating/4 share.

At 4 p.m., WPVI's "Oprah" leads with a 9 rating/20 share.  The WCAU news at 4 p.m. is next with a 4 rating/10 share, then WTXF's "Judge Judy" is in third place with a 4 rating/8 share.  The KYW news is in fourth place with a 3 rating/7 share.

At 3 p.m., the heavily hyped "Ellen" on WCAU is getting edged out by  KYW's "Pyramid" and "Inside Edition" block.  Each has a 3 rating.  However, "Pyramid" and "Inside Edition" have a higher 9 share compared to an eight share for "Ellen."  The leader in the time slot is "General Hospital" with a 6 rating/17 share (Sonny rules!).

At 11 a.m., "The Price is Right" on KYW leads with a 5 rating/17 share.  However, it is still difficult to get adjusted to the new announcer who took over for the late Rod Roddy.  "The View" is next with a 4 rating/13 share.  Good for you Philly!  I'm glad Bob Barker still has clout here.

At 10 a.m., lame duck "Wayne Brady" leads the bunch with a 4 rating/13 share.  When his show goes off the air, he should record a CD.  WPHL's "Maury" and WCAU's "10" are tied for second place with a 3 rating/9 share.  Though Bill Henley and Amy Freeze do commendable jobs on "10," they are thought of as weather anchors.  "10" needs to hire two new personalities who don't have any other jobs at the station to give the show its own stamp.

From 7 - 9 a.m., "Good Morning America" on WPVI leads with a 7 rating/21 share.  "The Today Show" on WCAU is next with a 5 rating/15 share, and WTXF's "Good Day Philadelphia" is in third place with a 3 rating/9 share.  "The Early Show" on KYW is in fourth place with a 2 rating/6 share.

Ratings are rounded up or down to the nearest number.  Each rating point equals 28,743 households.   Sweeps ends May 26.
