September 27 will be a great day for "Good Day Philadelphia" host Kerri-Lee Halkett who will wed WTXF manager of information services Jim Liott in an evening ceremony at Sweetwater Farm Bed and Breakfast in Glen Mills, PA.  Halkett, a native of British Columbia, 32, and Liott, of Montgomery County, 36, began dating last summer after Liott helped her renovate her home in Washington Square. The couple has been engaged since May, but wanted to keep things quiet until Halkett's engagement ring was ready.  Liott is a graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High and Bloomsburg University where he was a wrestling star.
The 75-person guest list includes Halkett's former "Good Day" co-host Mike Jerrick and former "Later Today" co-host Jodi Applegate (they worked together in Boston).  It will be a homecoming of sorts for Applegate, who attended Temple University before transferring to NYU in the late 80's. The wedding party will include Liott's five brothers, one sister and Halkett's sister.
The florist will be Ten Pennies, which was recommended by former "Good Day" guest co-host Pat Croce.
The couple will honeymoon in Greece for ten days, then plan to move to a home in the city.
In a cute aside, Halkett reports that Liott's mother takes care of his nieces and nephews and says the only time she has to turn the channel from "Good Day" is when the "Wiggles" comes on at 8:30 a.m.  It's a Wiggles World!

Final Answer
"Who Wants to be a Millionaire" will take over the 12:30 p.m. slot on WPVI when "Port Charles" goes off the air in  October. I am pleased that the daytime version succeeded even though the primetime version burned out.   What killed the nighttime version was all those wacky celebrity editions.  The basic game remains solid.

"Starting Over" will take over the 11 a.m. timeslot on WCAU in the fall.  The show follows women who get a second chance in their lives.  "The Other Half," the male version of "The View" which barely survived season one, was canceled.

Many CBS3 personalities attended the "Philadelphia" magazine "Best of Philly" party last week.  In a slight surprise, news anchor Marc Howard, who was criticized for remarks he made in the magazine a few months ago was there, along with fellow anchors Larry Mendte, Denise Saunders, Pat Ciarrochi, and Ukee Washington.  Also in attendance were Kathy Orr, Garry Cobb, Steve Bucci, Paul Deanno, and Alycia Lane who will join the station in September.

The magazine named WPVI's Jim Gardner and WTXF's Dawn Stensland top anchors.  WCAU's Amy Freeze was named best weathercaster.  WMGK 102.9-FM's Ed Sciaky and Andre Gardner won for their respective Bruce Springsteen and Beatles shows.  Isn't it time someone put together an Elton John or Billy Joel radio show?
