Surfing by Laura Nachman Bucks County Courier Times January 20, 2004 Heidi Bressler, 30, of Philadelphia has survived the first two weeks of the hit reality show du jour "The Apprentice." The NBC Donald Trump series, which has gotten great ratings following "Friends" on Thursday moves to its regular timeslot of 8 p.m. on Wednesday this week. Where have you gone Marla Maples? The local television stations executed an all out blitz on Eagles stories last week. It was an endless barrage of photos of small children and pets in Eagles gear, visits to fans at sports bars screaming their heads off, the Eagles pep band playing "Fly Eagles Fly," stories about fans who fill their homes with Eagles collectibles, and stories about the sale of Eagles jerseys at sporting goods stores. One person who was probably interested in the Carolina/Philadelphia game was former WTXF weather anchor Frank Cariello, who now works for the NBC affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina. "Bad to the Bone: The Best of Wing Bowl 12" will air on UPN 57 WPSG-TV on Thursday, February 5 at 10 p.m. The annual event takes place at the Wachovia Center on Friday, January 30. WOGL 98.1-FM just gave him a daily six hour shift. Holiday will be on the air from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. weekdays. The other big change is that Bob Charger will do the 7 p.m. to midnight shift. Don Cannon continues from 5 a.m. - 9 a.m. with sidekick Valerie Knight and "Big Ron" O'Brien anchors the afternoon drive shift of 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. That means "Big Ron" will be going head-to-head against another of my favorite DJ's, Brian Murphy of Mix 95.7-FM. Charlie Maxx takes over the 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. slot and Joe Mama goes to mornings. Fox-29 has dubbed itself "Philadelphia's Official Winter Weather Station." Does that mean the other stations get first dibs on spring, summer, and fall? Laura will give predictions about "The Golden Globe Awards" on "10" Friday at 10 a.m. on WCAU. |
