With recent published reports that say that former WCAU anchor/reporter Tiffany McElroy is pregnant, it leads one to wonder if she was pregnant when she was quoted in this column on September 9th denying that she was expecting a baby:

"Soon to be former WCAU anchor/reporter Tiffany McElroy, who is engaged to former WCAU weather anchor John Bolaris laughed at industry scuttlebutt that she is pregnant. "That's a good one," McElroy said in a recent phone conversation.  McElroy and Bolaris recently became engaged after a few months of dating.  No wedding date is set.  "We definitely want to have children someday though," said McElroy."

McElroy left WCAU a couple of weeks ago, so viewers won't be able to see if she is or isn't pregnant.  John Bolaris could not be reached for comment.

WCAU news anchor and Pennsbury High graduate Lisa Mishler is definitely pregnant.  She is expecting a boy at the end of December.  The Bucks county resident and her husband are the parents of a 2 ½ year old daughter, Alexis.

WPVI meteorologist Cecily Tynan will be the honorary chairman of the Ben Franklin Bridge 10K race.

"Dynomite News for JJ"

Joan "JJ" Jones will be the permanent co-host on the Michael Smerconish show on WPHT 1210-AM weekdays from 5:30 - 9 a.m.  Jones beat out Amy Caplan and Susan Monday for the job.  "JJ" left the B-101-FM morning show in June.

WPHT's Jeff Katz will receive the "Good Humor Award" from the Comedy College of Philadelphia (do they have a football team?) at the Spaghetti Warehouse on Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia Sunday evening.  For $24.95, the evening includes dinner, a comedy roast, and a comedy show.   Roasters include colleague Dom Giordano, Steve Bryant of QVC, and Philadelphia mayoral candidate Sam Katz (no relation to Jeff).  Call 215-787-0784 to order tickets.

KYW Anchor Pat Ciarrocchi is reporting from Rome, Italy this week for three major events of interest to Delaware Valley Catholics -- the Pope's 25th anniversary, the beatification of Mother Theresa and the elevation of Archbishop Rigali to cardinal on October 21.

Congratulations to LaSalle graduate Ralph Garman, whose reality spoof "Joe Schmo" is a hit for Spike TV.  This hilarious show features an entire cast of actors (including Garman) and one hapless man who thinks he is on a reality show.  Check it out on Spike TV Tuesdays (tonight) at 9 p.m
